Scott McGeorge has been actively involved in the inland waterways industry since 1968 when he joined the family business, Pine Bluff Sand and Gravel Company (PBSG). Pine Bluff Sand and Gravel is a 104-year-old company and highly respected in the industry. McGeorge served as President of the company from 1983 to 2016, at which time he became Senior Vice President and Chairman of the Board.
McGeorge is actively involved in the furtherance of the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System. He was Co-Chairman of Montgomery Point Lock and Dam Coalition. In this capacity, Scott made numerous trips to Washington, D.C. over several years, both individually and with various Arkansas River associations, in an effort to obtain authorization and funding for the Montgomery Point Lock and Dam on the White River channel at its entrance to the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System.
Montgomery Point was designed to maintain a year-round navigation pool and eliminate the need for major dredging in the area. It was completed in July 2004 after two decades of planning and construction and at a cost of $237 million.
