Overnight Adventures
Here is an experience your scout and youth groups won't want to miss! You've never had an overnight like this!
Grab your sleeping bag and pillow for an evening of exploration at the Museum & Aquarium. Do crafts and games that are fun for all ages before meeting some of the animal residents that spend every night at the Museum. Top off the night with a movie in one of our theaters before tucking in for bed in front of one of our exhibits.
Reservations include programming for the evening and admission to the Museum & Aquarium. An evening meal is not included; however, groups are welcome to bring a sack dinner or order pizza upon check-in before programming begins. Drinks and snacks are welcome (no alcohol is allowed). A light breakfast in our River’s Edge Cafe may be added for your group at an additional charge of $10.00 per person.
For groups of adults and/or children, ages 6+. A minimum of 1 adult per 5 youths is required. To reserve your overnight date or receive additional information please fill out the inquiry form below.

Early Explorers
Early Explorers is open to children ages 2-5 along with a parent or caregiver. Sessions are held monthly year-round. Programs include a variety of hands-on and active activities, including a craft and a game. Advanced registration is encouraged as space is limited. Those registering for a full year of programming will save!
Pioneer Days
Experience life as a pioneer at the Mathias Ham Historic Site! Step back in time while exploring an authentic one-room schoolhouse, an 1833 settler’s log cabin, a lead miner’s Badger Hut, and the historic Mathias Ham House.
Student Oceans Conference
The Student Oceans Conference is an intensive 2-day watershed workshop held at the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium, throughout Dubuque County, and on the Mississippi River. This workshop is designed to inspire a watershed stewardship ethic in students and build upon their confidence and individual environmental literacies.
