The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium extends its gratitude and support of education administrators during the month of August with a special Teacher Appreciation promotion. Teachers, para-professionals, and education staff receive free admission from August 1 – August 31 with proof of a valid school staff ID at the box office.
The offer is only valid onsite at the box offices and only applies to the individual with identification. Any additional experiences such as 3D/4D films, stingray feeds, and behind-the-scenes tours will be charged at regular price.
In 2023, the River Museum welcomed 16,000 K-12 students for programming, field trips, and camps, in addition to the community impact felt by outreach programs at local and regional libraries, community centers, and senior centers. The River Museum has fostered relationships with local and regional education institutions and Dubuque’s network of schools have helped support the organization’s mission and educational goals.
“We welcome educators and their families to stop by & create your own ed-venture,” said Bri Budde, the River Museum’s Education Group Coordinator. “Whether you’re touching stingrays Down in the Delta, interacting with our hands-on STEM exhibits in the River of Innovation, touring the historic William M. Black dredge boat, or viewing a demonstration of our 1880s belt driven machine shop, educational fun is around every corner. Our team is ready to help bring the River Museum to your classroom or your classroom to the River Museum.”
