The Dubuque County Historical Society and its properties, the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium and Mathias Ham Historic Site, granted three Board Members emeritus status in addition to new officers for 2025.
Carol Bitter, Ken Furst, and Chuck Schrup were all honored with emeritus status.
Bitter served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Dubuque County Historical Society for 47 years, including service on various committees, including the Historical Collections Committee and Board Chair.
Furst served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Dubuque County Historical Society for 26 years, including service on various committees, including the Finance, Building & Facilities, Historical Collections Committee and Board Chair.
Schrup served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Dubuque County Historical Society for 20 years, including service on various committees, including the Development Committee and Campaign.
The Board also appointed new officers for the year.
• Chip Murray, Senior Advisor of Trust & Investment Services at Fidelity Bank & Trust, was appointed Board Chair, replacing Tom Woodward, CEO & President at Woodward Communications
• Sarah Hasken, Business Leader, Jackson Mfg., Inc., was appointed Vice Chair, replacing Jim Gantz, President, Lime-Rock Springs/Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co. (retired)
• Tyson Leyendecker, President at Capra Bank, was appointed Treasurer, replacing Sarah Hasken
• Poppy Conlon, Vice President of Business Development at Conlon Construction, was appointed Secretary, replacing Chip Murray
• Tom Woodward was appointed Past Chair, replacing Lori Thielen, President at Rainbo Oil
Director of Human Resources at HODGE, Robert Hardin, joined the Board of Directors.
