Summer camps at the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium provide children entering K–8th grade with engaging, interactive programs during the summer months. Participants must bring a sack lunch and reusable water bottle for full day camps. Campers are divided by grade level.
Schedule:
Elementary School Camps: 9 AM - 4 PM
Middle School Camp is for those entering 6th-8th grades. It is a 2-day camp and includes an overnight at the River Museum. Arrive at 9 AM on July 1 and leave at 4 PM on July 2.

June 25 - 27: Rollin' Through Habitats (1st-2nd grade & 3rd-5th grade)
Do you like areas with lots of plants? How about locations that are dry? Throughout camp, we will focus on different habitats including prairie, wetland, desert, and aquatic. Where are they located? What animals and plants live in these areas? Come take a stroll with us as we roll through the habitats.

July 1 - 2: Middle School-Wild Survival (6th-8th grades; includes overnight)
How would you survive in the wilderness? What would you use to build a shelter, start a fire, or find food? You will learn skills for living in the wild, as well as, how various species go about it. Also, you will go on an American Adventure within the summer exhibit and make choices along the way. Join us as we travel through the adventures of the outdoors.

July 16 - 18: Crack the Case: Wildlife Trafficking (1st-2nd grade & 3rd-5th grade)
Do you like to unravel mysteries? Put your sleuthing skills to the test and solve pretend wildlife trafficking cases. You will also learn about the role of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service in protecting species. Join us as we investigate and learn about how to keep certain species safe.

July 23 - 25: Animalympics (1st-2nd grade & 3rd-5th grade)
Do you have what it takes to go for the gold? We will challenge records set in the animal kingdom as we attempt to outcompete wildlife champions in a variety of events.

July 30 - August 1: Crazy Creators (1st-2nd grade & 3rd-5th grade)
Inspire your inner maker and scientist during this week of discovery and innovation. Each day we will solve challenges using basic materials and learn how inventors’ “crazy” inventions changed the world. Then, experiment with designing and bringing your own great ideas and inventions to life.
